WELCOME – INVITATION TO PARTNER
Perth will host the 2nd Australasian Exploration Geoscience Conference (AEGC2019) from Monday the 2nd of September to Thursday the 5th of September 2019 at Crown Perth. The AEGC2019 is the largest petroleum and mineral geoscience conference in Australasia, and incorporates the West Australian Basin Symposium (WABS) and the ASEG-PESA International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition. The Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG), and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA) will jointly host the event. The AEGC2019 will attract a large number of delegates spanning the spectrum of geosciences (including geologists, geophysicists, and geochemists) from local and international mineral, petroleum, and water resource industries, as well as government and academia representatives.
An important and continuing focus of the AEGC2019 is to foster student and young professional participation and showcase the geoscience community. Two days of interactive presentations, careerinsight talks, and guided exhibition tours, will be run concurrently with the AEGC2019 proceedings – High school students will be hosted on Wednesday the 4th of September, and undergraduates on Thursday the 5th of September.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for participants for each of the Student Days. Student & Young Professional Partnership packages are also available. On behalf of the AEGC2019 Organising Committee, we invite your organisation to be a part of the conference.
We look forward to seeing you!

Students will have a guided tour of the exhibition, see the latest in exploration technologies, and have an opportunity to interact with established geoscientists. Two scheduled information sessions will cover an introduction to exploration geoscience and provide a variety of career insights. Students will also have an opportunity to have lunch with invited geoscientists.

The 2018 AEGC in Sydney drew more than 900 delegates. As Perth is a hub for both the mining and energy industries, the AEGC2019 is expected to attract well over 1,000 delegates and will include geoscientists involved in the exploration for energy resources, metals and industrial minerals, as well as near surface and groundwater exploration. The AEGC2019 provides a unique opportunity to showcase the offerings of the exploration geoscience community.
There will be strong representation from the following fields:
The AEGC2019 is to be held in Perth at the recently upgraded Crown Perth function centre. The venue is located minutes from the city centre with free parking, good public transport options, and is within walking distance from the new Optus Stadium.
Student Day proceedings will be held in the exclusive function halls of Crown Perth, and are separate to gaming and bar areas. A catered lunch will be provided on both Student Days.
